It's all about feet...
I've been appreciating being able to walk, go up and down stairs, etc. I'm scheduled for surgery to fix my deformed right foot - bunion and hammer toe surgery. (won't be able to drive for a few weeks)
Let's just say that my xray didn't look like the one above - its quite scary - the proposal is correction of the bunion with a plate and some screws - the proposal to correct my toe is removal of the fused bone in the joint and fusing the bones with a pin. It will be painful... and certainly affect all aspects of my life for a few months - but I want to be able to hike, walk and run for the next 36 years.
This will mean 4 weeks non weight bearing, and then some time in a post op boot, progressing to a tennis shoe... gradual progress to regular shoes and hopefully future possibility of running again.
The last few years I haven't been able to run because the pain in my foot is too painful, even when I walked the last 10 k I did this year the pain in my foot was excruciating; every step I'm walking on the end of my toe nail and there is pain in the ball of my foot.
