Dinner With Jocy in Baton Rouge

Well, it wasn't a summer vacation to a tourist trap, it wasn't a really long drive... but it was a nice break and a good time together.

Sunday after church we gathered the ingredients for chicken enchiladas and drove to Baton Rouge to Jocy's house. Todd, Me, Tyson, Macy and Bella were prepared for a hot trip in my Jetta and were pleasantly surprised by the a/c working. (saturday Todd tried to remedy my suffering the heat while driving to and from work and put stop leak in the a/c and recharged it - but it didn't work on saturday)

We drove to Jocy's and were welcomed by Jocy... Bella was soo happy...

I got to look at paint swatches to consider for future improvements to Jocy's place and browsed throught some home decor books.

Todd enjoyed a relaxing nap.

We made Chicken Enchiladas cooked in the luxury of an oven and enjoyed the cool air in Jocy's house (we have been suffering a/c difficulties at home since Thursday). Dinner was delicious...

Then we went for a walk down the street and ventured into the nearest cemetery (Bella enjoyed running around in the fenced area) while we looked for the oldest headstone 1817. Cemeteries kind of creep me out ( I feel like the grounds going to open up and I'll fall into a deep hole embraced by skeletal remains)- but Jocy, Macy, Tyson don't seem to mind and enjoyed walking in the lush grass.

Then we enjoyed a skookie for dessert.. mmmmmmm (a warm giant cookie baked minimally so it's nice and soft, smothered in icecream - one of Julie's favorites). It was a nice break from Slidell and we had a fun visit with Jocelyn.
