Prayer
Yesterday I had an awesome experience with prayer.
A dear friend and associate at work told me on Wednesday that he was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor in his lung. His surgery was yesterday (VATS) - video assisted thoracic surgery. He and his family have a life full of health problems and miracles - they have great faith.
I wanted to do something and another co-worker agreed that we should have a group prayer. So I invited friends of Stephen to join in group prayer yesterday morning at 8:30 am. I didn't know what to expect - but I know the power of prayer is magnified by participation and faith. There were approximately 15 people that participated. I thanked everyone for being there to support Stephen and said that regardless of our different religious denominations we could unite and draw on the powers of Heaven for Stephen and his family and the surgical team. Then I started by saying a prayer, I could feel the spirit so strong and many in the room were brought to tears. I thought what a beautiful gift to Stephen and his family.
One by one those that wanted to each said a prayer. We were all touched by this experience and I know with a surety that Stephen, Linda and their family and the doctors were also guided and strengthened. The estimated time of the surgery was to be 4 to 5 hours. Linda called at 12 noon to let us know that they didn't take Stephen into surgery until 10 am. Then at 3 pm Linda called to say Stephen was out of surgery, the doctor said Stephen did very well and the doctor said the surgery was easier than expected. So grateful for the opportunity to pray for Stephen and their family and witness blessings of prayer.
